To provide competent musicians with an opportunity to play in an ensemble and to enrich the cultural life of the people of Rockland County by performing live music before diverse audiences throughout the county.
The ensemble is made up of 50 to 60 musicians. The band plays for various events, and civic functions throughout the year.
The RCCB is a member of the Arts Council of Rockland.
The Rockland County Band performs at the Cultural Arts Theater of Rockland Community College, in Suffern, N.Y., in May of 2011.
Rockland County Concert Band has been contributing to the cultural life of Rockland County, and the lower Hudson Valley for almost 40 years!
Located in beautiful Rockland County, New York (17 miles north of New York City), the Rockland County Concert Band is the county's only community band.
Founded in 1975, the Rockland County Concert Band has been entertaining audiences,
and enriching the culture of the county with varied programs of classical, light
classical, show tunes, movie themes, rock, jazz, and marches for over three decades.
The band performs a regular series of formal concerts at the Cultural Arts Center of Rockland Community College, and in addition, performs December holiday concerts, and an outdoor series of free summer concerts throughout the county.
